Once you created a track, you just want to reach the full potential of the sound you used. That’s what Dutch DJ/Producer Axollo thought on his new track ‘Silence’. After remixing ‘Stupid Dumb’ by CMC$ & SVEA, he saw the light: “I need a single in this powerful style as well!”. The rest is history. The man himself tells us about his track, which is released on the famous and much-appreciated NCS: the community for content creators.

The question
“This release feels like a homecoming on NCS. It’s been a while since I released my last track ‘Burn It’ there. The community goes crazy on ‘Silence’ and I’m so grateful for that! I’m reading a lot of ”Welcome Back” comments in the NCS comment section which is good. They still know me apparently, haha!” The question is, will Axollo release more NCS music? “Who knows, I’ve been working with Enter Records for the past two years and the feeling is still really good. they know what they’re doing and I’m not planning on leaving anytime soon. But still, we’ll see.”
Sometimes, people don’t realise how fundamental good processing is.

Josh Bogert
‘Silence’ contains a lot of soul, emotion and strength, that’s because Axollo’s favourite part is de drop. “Yes it is, I’m super proud of the outcome. As for Josh Bogert his part, I’m in love with his falsetto* in the pre-chorus. It’s sooo smooth! Josh Bogert is amazing, anyway. After I heard him together with Laust on ‘Can’t Say Why’, I was sold. Laust introduced me to Josh and a week later the track was finished!”
(* = Falsetto is a mode of singing that sounds breathy, flutey and hollow.)
Different durposes
There are a lot of examples that a producer makes a remix by using sounds he used for one of his earlier productions. The parallels are striking very often and that says a lot about how versatile the sound is. Now, it goes the other way around and it’s paying off! Axollo knows like no other how important it is to go through a quality process. “While processing and designing these synths I learned to get more power out of them and to use them for different purposes. Sometimes, people don’t realise how fundamental good processing is. Also, I’m really satisfied with the fact that I’ve written one of my best melodies so far. It’s playable as well!”
