2020 is just around the corner and we can’t wait for the countdown! In this part of Blog 004 you find our opinion about artists and record labels we think are going to kill it next year. We are so excited, let’s dive into it! Click on the artwork for their Spotify (artists).
We’ve been following this upcoming duo from their first EP on Hexagon and they’re doing pretty well. It seems like producing different genres is effortless for Asketa & Nathan Chaim. ‘Underneath My Skin’ and ‘Paid Vacation’ are very accessible tracks which we support for sure. 2019 has to be a perfect year for these guys with a remix for The Chainsmokers! There’s so much to share and we can’t wait, but we have one critical point. We didn’t like ‘Get Away’ that much, because of the relatively chaotic melody. That might be an aspect to be warned of.
A few levels above ‘badass’, is called Crime Zcene. This producer released some massive bangers this year. He has a superior sound design; one of the best in the scene at the moment. Talking about sound design, he’s at the right place (STPMD) and has the right company: with Seth Hills as his buddy, he has a great companion to work with. Anyway, Crime Zcene is on his way to find his own sound and keep continuing this direction. We were astonished by ‘Breathe’ when it came out, a sound we’ve never heard before! If Crime Zcene takes every opportunity to show what his potential is, we predict a great 2020 for him.
This man released an album in 2018, he appeared on Monstercat’s 8th Anniversary EP this year, delivered a ‘To The Wire’ remix for Julian Jordan and suddenly… he disappeared. Laszlo deleted all of his Instagram posts, what is going on?! We think he’s cooking some fabulous songs in the studio. He’s likely signed by STMPD because of his ‘To The Wire’ remix. One thing is clear for us: 2020 is not ready for Laszlo.
It’s not a secret that we’re a big fan of Don Diablo’s Hexagon Recordings. Then the most epic thing happened this year! Ever since Generation Hex came up, our ‘club music’-heartbeat went up so high! This label anticipates on the need of club tracks in the scene in its own way. We think every festival mainstage will be filled with music by Generation Hex this Summer.
Like we said before, Sick Individuals are about to start a new era in dance music with their label New Made Recordings. We expect that they want to create a platform for their electronic pop music, such as “We Got It All”. But at the same time, we’re not sure which other artists are going to be signed by them. Exciting! Either way, the boys have a personal platform to expand their musicality and that’s a big next step in their careers.
Martin Garrix’ imprint STMPD Records know no boundaries and keep going on exploring new sounds. They sign the right artists, have a great headquarters with possibilities to produce music and communicate to their fans that lovely family feeling. The aspect what we love the most is that every artist gets the recognition and reach he deserves because of his uniqueness. Attractive on every level. We haven’t heard the best from this dream team. 2020, here comes The STMPD Squad!
