10 tracks which are still relevant (2010 – 2016)
At Framed Network Music we promote the future’s music with a wink towards the past. The past years we’ve been spoiled with unique sounds, surprising collaborations and timeless tracks. In a celebration week like this, we want to prepare a list of personally chosen tracks which are still relevant in our opinion. Together with a friend of ours, guest music-from-the-past-specialist and ’10’s-guru’ Tim, we collected this list.

Deadmau5 ft. Chris James – The Veldt (2012)
The first track we think is still relevant nowadays is a monster: The Veldt. The video where Deadmau5 was blown away after hearing the vocals for the first time remains fresh in our memories. Deadmau5 still uses these formats in his tracks because it works and we can’t get enough of this sound. The Tommy Trash Remix is a brutal track as well!
Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers – Get Lucky (2013)
Tim: We’ve chosen this track because the disco vibes will never leave the Dance Industry. A lot of artists are inspired by the sound of Daft Punk: the way they use acoustic instruments, editing voices and creating an amazing danceable vibe. Play this song in a club and nobody will notice that this was made in 2012.
Row Rocka – Backtrack (2015)
A surprising one, just because of its raw groove and dark atmosphere. It has been played live for years by Dyro, Mercer and Thomas Newson. Today’s listener is a big fan of a mysterious, but attractive flow. That’s what we like about this track: you can’t ignore the drive. Melody and sound design-wise is the drop from another level. If WOLV didn’t excist, STMPD would have been interested to sign this banger. A Row Rocka + Seth Hills/Loopers collab would be sick in the future.
Deorro ft. Chris Brown – Five More Hours (2015)
Panda Funk boss Deorro released Five Hours in 2014 as an instrumental track and re-released it in 2015 with Chris Brown. The song wasn鈥檛 something as new as we all thought when it was released, but the track proved us wrong as it didn’t turn out generic and met all our ear loving factors. It鈥檚 a very good example of pop blended bounce music with attention grabbing vocals and melody. A classic never to be forgotten. (Thanks to Ritesh)
Blinders – Sirene (2014)
‘Sirene’ has been the big introduction of Blinders. The Polish DJ/Producer made a lot of tracks with this format, but it never gets boring. It’s catchy! In the golden EDM days, it was an innovative sound which lasts longer than we ever expected. That’s why we think a lot of big names in the industry could still play ‘Sirene’ without thinking about the fact that this track goes back to 2014.
Sam Feldt x Lucas & Steve ft. Wulf – Summer On You (2016)
One of the biggest summer tunes of 2016 has become a real classic. The club edit is still playable as well! When it got released, the Sam Feldt concept wasn’t even two years old and Lucas & Steve were on their way to build a consistent list of quality releases. A fun fact: Summer On You was just the second release ever of Wulf. Yes, he’s the one with those massive pop hits ‘Switching Gears’ and ‘Mind Made Up’! Look how far he came in a few years!
Holl & Rush – Pheromones (Dannic Edit) (2016)
Don Diablo – Cutting Shapes (2016)
DJ Snake, Lil Jon – Turn Down For What (2013)
Oliver Heldens & Shaun Frank ft. Delaney Jane – Shades Of Grey (2015)
FOR THE DJ: MASHUPS, EDITS & BOOTLEGS
