‘Like We Used To’ is characterized by a danceable bassline in the drop, a refined sound design and a sweet vocal. The vocal turned out to be the source of inspiration in this ‘automatic’ process because it went its own way for his sense. “After hearing the vocal for the first time, I knew how the track has to sound like, I haven’t ever made a track in such short amount of time!” explains Sam Helix.
“I really love to give feedback, it’s very educational to hear what other producers did with their sounds.”Sam Helix, producer of ‘Like We Used To’
“I started with creating chords which would fit the vocal, then it was a matter of trying the right melody. Taking care of finding melodies is a thing that I want to extend to future releases. I hope it’ll stand out in the coming period.” Well, standing out is exactly what Sam Helix does at the moment. After receiving support on ‘Need You’ (also Future House Cloud) from Keanu Silva and musicbyLucas, ‘Like We Used To’ was picked up by KSHMR and Brooks! “Definitely something to be proud of! From my own promotion, the track has heard a lot and we’re hoping for more radio support.”
The Dutchman clearly has a well-defined roadmap to climb up in the scene and reach the next level in music production. “Yes, that’s correct! I have the right environment for feedback at the moment. It allows me to improve my track after receiving feedback from professional producers. On the other side, I really love to give feedback as well. It’s very educational to hear what other producers did with different sounds and we can talk about ways of processing them.”

With the establishment of his own management, a new chapter has started for Sam Helix and his companion. “With Adhaara Management we started managing a pop music singer, Carmen Orea. A pretty interesting project which we are very excited about! The idea behind his project is that we also want to show the crowd who’s working with the artist, so the crowd could see that most pop artists are not working alone.”
There’s no mountain too high for this young producer. Looking at his approach to development and getting his businesses to the next level, Sam Helix deserves a lot of credit. No matter what spot he will take in the industry, with a lot of dedication he’ll achieve what he wants. Next up: all eyes on December and January, because Sam has several tracks ready to share with us!
